New!

Polaron Kennels (formerly Chandler Kennels) was founded in 1989 and is based on Top Quality, Top Winning and Top Producing Malamutes. We are a small kennel, enabling us to give quality attention to each and everyone of our dogs!! Our dogs are part of the family and are treated as so. They share time inside and outside the home.

We enjoy spending time with our dogs doing things like training, grooming, playing and lying on the couch  in front of a fire watching TV.

Our limited breeding program is meant to produce loving pets that can not only enter a show ring and compete with top quality winning mals but also excel in the work that they were bred to do!

Our breeding program is set up to help in the fight to rid our breed of genetic defects and preserve the original Malamute.

In breeding, the first thing that is considered is temperament; a good temperament is a must. Second is confirmation; Malamutes were originally bred to pull heavy freight over short distances. The Malamute must be able to move correctly in order to accomplish this. A Malamute that is too small, too large, or has poor movement, will not last to do the work that they were bred to do. We OFA (Hip) and Chd (dwarfism) clear our dogs as well as have their eyes certified clear. The final thing that is considered is coat and overall appearance. Malamutes must have a course, dense coat in order to survive severe winter conditions. A coat that is long or soft will collect ice balls in the snow, therefore endangering the dog to hypothermia. Their appearance needs to be balanced overall. For instance a dog that is too short or too long in body will show weakness in movement and strength.

The Malamute is a very loving, gentle, happy dog that finds working rewarding. However they are not a dog for everyone. Malamutes are a pack animal and will challenge those in his pack (family). If you are not the type that can set rules and discipline, then you very well could find your Malamute ruling you!

If you have never owned a Malamute and are considering adding this breed to your family I would suggest doing as much research on the breed first. Also, plan to visit some nearby Malamute Kennels in your area.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting us!
